Check that you qualify for a CTC Wings Cadet place

CTC Wings Cadet places are strictly limited. To qualify, you must:

have the unrestricted right to live and work in the EU*
have 5 GCSEs including Mathematics, English and a Science at grade C or higher (equivalent qualifications will be considered)
have 2 A-levels (or equivalent), preferably in Mathematics and one other science based subject (Physics recommended) at grade C or higher
be fluent in English (verbal and written)
produce a CRC (criminal record check) Basic Disclosure Certificate before training can commence

Four steps to New Zealand

The selection process for aspiring CTC Wings pilots is stimulating, challenging and competitive, designed to test your mettle through each of the four phases - application, testing, interview and simulator assessment. By the end of the process, both you and CTC will have a clear, all-round picture of your abilities and your potential as a pilot.

Step 1
Fill in the online application form. Your application will be carefully screened to ensure your suitability for the next stage.

Step 2
All suitable applicants are invited to take part in an assessment day where we will test your numerical skills and discover your natural ability using the world's leading pilot aptitude testing system. We'll also endeavour to answer any remaining questions you have about CTC Wings during a presentation delivered by one of the CTC team.

Step 3
As part of a further assessment process, you will take part in group activities to evaluate your interpersonal skills and complete an interview conducted by members of our CTC Wings selection team.

Step 4
Time to take the ultimate test and prove yourself in a flight simulator. At this stage we will see how you perform in a jet simulator to confirm your capacity to learn and take on new information, as well as testing your co-ordination, dexterity and interaction in the flight deck.

Naturally our partner airlines will also want to get to know you, so in addition to these four steps, you may be invited to an additional interview or to an extra selection session during your training with us.
