In our dynamic industry, change is one of the few constants so keep up to date with what's going on in CTC with Fly-Through News. More...
While you're progressing through the CityJet Wings Cadet programme, you'll be training on the very best equipment, working in purpose-built facilities and living in comfortable accommodation. Each location is tailored to the different stages of your training.
Hamilton, New Zealand
Based at Hamilton Airport on New Zealand's North Island and adjacent to the main runway; the 19,000sq ft Crew Training Centre offers several flight simulators, briefing rooms, lecture rooms, planning and operation facilities. You'll be flying DA20 Katanas, Alpha 160A's or Cessna 172s during the single-engine (SE)phase and the twin-engine Diamond DA42 Twin Stars when you progress onto Multi Engine (ME) flying.
Clearways, New Zealand
While you're training at Hamilton, as a CityJet Wings cadet you will have your own room at CTC’s “Clearways” accommodation complex. Newly built in 2006, these state-of-the-art facilities are way in excess of normal trainee residences – with centralised lounges, in room cooking facilities as well as a communal large kitchen and laundry facilities. As you would expect, there is also a gym on site as well as other sporting and leisure facilities. “Clearways” is just a few kilometres from the Crew Training Centre - Hamilton and we have a fleet of minibuses for each course to make use of during your training.
Bournemouth, UK
The final eight-week phase of your Multi Engine and Instrument Rating training is completed at CTC's Crew Training Centre at Bournemouth International Airport. Here you'll be training on a DA42 Twin Star simulator and aircraft before moving on to flying the AVRO RJ85.
Nursling, UK
At CTC’s Flight Simulator Centre in the UK you will be using the most up-to-date training technology available. This includes Boeing and Airbus simulators, and a suite of specialist computer-based training (CBT) rooms as well as space to eat and relax between sessions.
Dibden, UK
Dibden Manor is CTC’s residential Crew Training Centre and many trainees will stay here whilst in the UK. The manor has 31 en-suite bedrooms, each with a study area, plus a lounge, bar, putting green and nine acres of grounds to enjoy - the perfect setting in which unwind after training sessions. The Manor is right on the edge of the New Forest in the South of England and 15 minutes' drive from the city of Southampton.
Dublin, Eire
The final phase of your training will be carried out at CityJet's training centre in Swords close to Dublin Airport. This is where you will learn the ins and outs of the AVRO RJ85 in a combination of classroom based instruction and CBT training as well as developing your handling skills in the Full Flight Simulator. During this phase of your training you will be staying at either of CityJet's two crew hotels at Dublin Airport; the Clarion or the Premier Inn. Your accommodation costs are covered by CityJet.
