The CityJet Wings Cadet programme is a sponsored programme, which means that CityJet will contribute a significant amount to the overall costs of your training.
Foundation Course
The first stage of your training – the Foundation Course – is not part of the sponsored programme and you will be required to contribute towards this. The current cost of this course is NZ$17,400 (which at an exchange rate of NZ$2.5 equates to just under £7,000). This includes a NZ$500 refundable deposit for use of the accommodation facilities in New Zealand and is heavily subsidised by CTC and CityJet.
Security Bond
Each successful applicant will be required to deposit a security bond of UK£60,000 with one of CTC’s subsidiary companies, Airline Placement Limited (APL)
The purpose of this bond is to provide security to CityJet’s training provider and is deposited in monthly instalments spread across the period of training.
Security Bond Transfer
Upon completion of all training and at the point of employment, your security bond will be transferred to CityJet in order to continue the security during employment.
Security Bond Repayment and Salary
The basic starting salary for a CityJet Second Officer entering employment through CityJet Wings is €24,833. In addition to this, during employment with CityJet your security bond will be repaid to you over a period of 7 years at the rate of €800 per month for the first 3 years and then €1500 a month for the next 4 years.
When you have completed 1500 flying yours you will move on to a First Officer salary scale. Your salary will increase annually on an incremental scale and details of this will be provided by CityJet during the selection process.
As you go through the selection process, we will provide you with further details on the finances
